Fiona obtained her PhD in 2021 and her work aimed at better understanding the role of cadherins, a family of cell–cell adhesion molecules, in the behaviour of bone marrow–derived human mesenchymal stem cells. After a short stint as a postdoc, she began her new position as a project leader for Vanessa LaPointe in the Cell Therapy group. As a project leader, she manages the administrative aspects of the group, from following up with collaborators, helping with publications, monitoring student performance, data and grant management, and providing overall support to the group.
