Coming from a medical background obtained from Riga Stradins University in Latvia, Iveta relocated to the Netherlands to pursue a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences at Maastricht University, with a particular focus on regenerative medicine. Concurrently with her studies, she completed an internship of nearly two years at the MERLN Institute in the Cell Therapy (LaPointe) group, under the supervision of Dr. Paula Marks. During this internship, Iveta conducted research on donor-derived human periosteum derived cell (hPDC) characterization in a 3D environment to investigate donor variability for potential future applications in the treatment of osteoarthritis.
Following the completion of her Master's degree, Iveta continues her professional career at the MERLN Institute as a laboratory technician within the same group, now working under the guidance of Dr. Vanessa LaPointe.
