Mahsa Ebrahimi

PhD Student

Fabrication of Mechanically Robust PEG-Based Hydrogels for 3D Printing and Injection

Mahsa was born and grew up in Tehran, Iran. She earned her bachelor's degree in materials engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology and later completed her master's degree in the same field at University of Tehran. In October 2020, Mahsa moved to Belgium to begin her PhD at Hasselt University under the guidance of Louis Pitet. Her research is part of a collaborative effort between Hasselt University and the MERLN Institute at Maastricht University, where she is also co-supervised by Matthew Baker and Lorenzo Moroni. Mahsa's work focuses on developing robust hydrogels for load-bearing tissue engineering applications, utilizing various strengthening strategies and advanced 3D printing technologies. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, cooking, and traveling.
