After obtaining her bachelor’s in biomedical sciences from the University of Liège in Belgium, Margot obtained her master’s degree in regenerative medicine from Maastricht University. In January 2023, Margot started her PhD under the supervision of Pr. Martijn van Griensven. Her project is a collaboration between the MERLN Institute and the Department of Traumasurgery and orthopedic traumatology at the MUMC+. The aim of her project is to assess the effect of a combination of biomaterials on bone healing and bacterial resistance. As infections often are a cause of treatment failure, there is a necessity to develop new devices that will induce bone healing while efficiently treating infections.
