Maryam Parvizifard

PhD Student

Developing next generation of precision biomaterials for tissue regeneration applications

Maryam received her master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering with a specialization in Biomaterials from Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in 2020. For her master’s thesis, she worked on the fabrication of a 3D nanocomposite scaffold for bone regeneration.

She started her Ph.D. at the department of Instructive Biomaterials Engineering (IBE) at the MERLN institute in January 2022. Her Ph.D. project is part of the Materials-Driven Regeneration (MDR) Gravitation program. In this project, she aims to establish an approach for designing and producing next-generation precision biomaterials with fine-tuned properties, particularly for musculoskeletal tissue regeneration, through high-throughput screening of cell/microbiomaterial interactions in a 3D microenvironment.
