Transplantation of cornea stem cells

Mor Dickman is a visiting postdoc from the MUMC+ ophthalmology department. He is investigating the recovery process of transplanted cornea stem cells using nanoparticles and imaging techniques. In this way, the behaviour of transplanted stem cells can be observed at different levels. The knowledge gained will primarily be used to improve current stem cell therapy for corneal repair, but will certainly also contribute to the development of new treatment methods for eye damage.

In addition, the acquired knowledge can be translated to other organs, where the imaging method can be modified for labelling other stem cell types.
