Xingzhen Zhang has a background of Pharmaceutics, focusing on the biodegradable nanomaterials for controlled release and targeted drug delivery system. She received her Bachelor degree in Pharmacy in 2015 and Master degree in Medicine in 2018 at Shandong University, where she worked on “smart” multifunctional nanoparticles for concurrent chemo-radiotherapy of glioma. Subsequently, she was granted by China Scholarship Council and started her Ph. D research project at Maastricht University.
Currently, she aims to functionalize the mesoporous silica nanoparticles with DNA sequences to further construct bioactive interface to guide the behavior of stem cells.
