Electrospinning

A key strategy in regenerative medicine is to mimic the protein fiber microenvironments found within the body in order to direct cell fate and induce tissue repair. MERLN recreates these microenvironments by using and developing electrospinning and melt electrowriting technologies, two techniques that can generate micro- to nano-scale polymeric fibers.
These approaches can be used to generate scaffolds with either random or designed patterns, emulating the microstructural hierarchy and organization found in the body in order to steer cell behaviour.
