MERLN takes an active role in developing organ-on-chip systems in the field of regenerative medicine. Our ambition is to embrace a higher degree of complexity in order to improve the physiological relevance of organ-on-chip systems in future. Additive manufacturing, polymer film-based micro- and nanotechnologies, and our long-term tissue engineering expertise positions us at the forefront of the development of advanced 3D in vitro models for biomedical applications.
MERLN designs, fabricates, and characterizes organ-on-chip devices to mimic physiological and pathophysiological processes on microfluidic chips to elucidate fundamental biological questions and to bring high-throughput screenings closer to a tissue and organ level.
