Biomaterials have the power to positively influence the cells of our bodies through direct and indirect interactions. For example, there are materials that can influence regeneration or modulate an immune response. By studying how cells are affected and linking this effect to the material properties, we can better design materials for regenerative medicine. Moreover, biomaterials are also affected by cells such as that cells may digest biomaterials.
