Exosome Containing Bioinks for Regenerative Medicine

Fatma originally comes from Manisa, also known as the city of princes, in the Aegean region of Turkey.

She earned her Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics, at Middle East Technical University (METU). Then, she started his Masters in Biotechnology at Yeditepe University in 2018. She conducted a project whose name is Tooth Germ-Derived Stem Cells In Bone Tissue Engineering: Analysis Of Osteo/Odontogenic Potential. Her research project was rewarded a grant from TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkiye). During master studies, she was interested in 3D bioprinters and extracellular vesicles.

In June 2023, Fatma started her PhD at the MERLN Institute under the supervision of Lorenzo Moroni and Monize Caicado Decarli. Her research interest based on development of exosome containing bioinks for tissue regeneration. Recently, exosomes have shown great potential as regenerative biotherapeutics, immunomodulatory factors, and drug delivery vehicles due to their unparalleled ability for intracellular crosstalk. This project aims to upscale exosome production using spheroids and formulate protein based functional bioinks according to requirements of tissues.
