Jarno Wolters started to work as a postdoctoral researcher in a research project led by Dr. H.J.M. Beckers (Department of Ophthalmology) on the 15th of August. This project is entitled SEAMS (Smart, Easy and Accurate Minimally invasive glaucoma Surgery) and focusses on the improvement of glaucoma filtration surgery. From January 2019, his research will be performed in the lab of Prof. dr. Lorenzo Moroni in the CTR group. More specific, his research, together with Dr. T. Gorgels (Department of Ophthalmology), will focus on selecting and designing a new medication regimen for glaucoma filtration surgery based on in vitro bioassays. Furthermore, he will be heavily involved in the selection of an appropriate sustained drug delivery system.
In July 2018, he obtained his doctorate (thesis: 'Toxicogenomics approaches in vitro for unravelling the mechanisms for hepatotoxicity', promoter Prof. Dr. Jos Kleinjans).
