Dr JiaPing Li is a senior researcher in the department of Complex Tissue Regeneration and the department of Instructive Biomaterial Engineering at MERLN Institute for Technology-inspired Regenerative Medicine, Maastricht University since 2015. He studied in Material Science and Mechanical Engineering in Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in China. In 2000, he moved to Netherlands to be as a research scientist at IsoTis NV on development porous titanium scaffold for orthopedic application till 2003. Later he worked in Porogen BV from 2004-2008 to develop porous biomaterials by using additive manufacturing technique. In 2008, he joined Cellcotec to develop 3D fiber deposition polymer scaffold from the research bench to the clinic for knee cartilage repair till 2015.
In 2007, He received his Ph.D in Biomaterials at University of Twente on porous titanium for biomedical application
Currently, his main research interests are focused on additive manufacturing techniques to develop novel instructive scaffolds with metals, ceramics, polymers and their composites to mimic native tissues for tissue regeneration.
