Ivo Beeren receives ON/EORS Kick-Starter Grant

Congratulations to Ivo Beeren for receiving an ON/EORS Kick-Starter Grant! Together with his co-applicants (Matt Baker and Lorenzo Moroni) the submitted a proposal entiled "A bioinspired bottle-brush polymer for cartilage regeneration".

The project will focus on negatively charged sulfonated glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) that play an important role in the characteristic mechanical behavior of the articular cartilage. They will use the GAG composition and organization as a bioinspired template to design stronger, more resilient hydrogels with the aim to formulate an injectable bottle-brush hydrogel that reflects the native cartilage ECM.
