Sangita Swapnasrita received her PhD!

Sangita Swapnasrita has successfully defended her research thesis at the University of Bremen on April 30 and has now officially obtained her PhD degree!

Her thesis entitled "Direct Simulation Monte Carlo: surface chemical reaction" was all about developing a DSMC simulation to predict surface chemical reaction in mesoporous structure. Sangita developed a multiscale model that combines gas phase collision and diffusion and surface step, adsorption, desorption and reaction to model CO oxidation on porous Palladium catalyst. She was able to make the old model more efficient and validate the model with a microreactor designed at Chalmers. She also provided extra insights regarding the CO poisoning in the microreactor using the model predictions.

Congratulations on this wonderful achievement Dr Swanpnasrita!
