Hongjuan Weng obtained her master's degree in Biochemistry and Molecule Biology at Shandong University in 2020. During her master study, she focused on preparing self-healing hydrogels for promoting hemostasis and wound healing. In November 2020, she joined the department of Complex Tissue Regeneration and started her PhD study in Lorenzo Moroni’s group at MERLN. In the next 4 years, she will focus on designing poly (ester amide) reinforced hydrogels with improved mechanical properties for loadbearing tissue engineering applications.
