Lin obtained his Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology at South Medical University. After that, he continued to further his studies in Bioengineering at the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2017, he started his PhD at the Department of Developmental Bioengineering, University of Twente. His research focused on the development of a novel hydrogel platform for the delivery of therapeutic antibody fragments (VHHs) in the joint cavity to induce cartilage repair in osteoarthritis. Driven by a desire to broaden his expertise, He joined MERLN as a post-doctoral researcher under the supervision of Dr. Sabine van Rijt in November 2023. His current project aims to develop a novel class of mechanically tough nanocomposite hydrogels with rapid self-healing and cell instructive properties for application in osteosarcoma (OS) treatment and bone regeneration
