With a Bachelor’s degree from the Maastricht Science Programme at Maastricht University, Nika carried out her bachelor thesis research at the MERLN Institute in Dr. Silvia Bolognin’s group, focusing on aging and Parkinson’s Disease.

Building on this work, in 2025 she will continue working in Dr. Silvia Bolognin’s group, optimizing current protocols to enable high-throughput organoid experiments. As well as understanding the role of cellular aging in neurodegeneration.
