Martina completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at Maastricht University, where she conducted her research internship on gene regulation in LAMA2 muscular dystrophy. She is currently a Junior Technician in the Cell Therapy Lab of Dr. Vanessa LaPointe at MERLN, where she supports multiple research projects focused on developing cell-based therapies for chronic ocular diseases. Her work includes iPSC culture and laboratory techniques such as immunostaining, qPCR, flow cytometry and microscopy, and she enjoys working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary research environment.
