Dr. Suihong Liu obtained his PhD in October 2023 through a joint doctoral programme between Shanghai University, China, and TU Dresden, Germany. During his PhD, he established protein-rich bioactive bioinks and multi-material bioprinting strategies for the fabrication of multicellular osteochondral constructs. He subsequently conducted two years of postdoctoral research at The Pennsylvania State University, USA, where he developed ovoprotein-based photoresponsive bioinks, orthogonally crosslinked microgel platforms for modular bioprinting strategies using cellular spheroids towards functional tissue engineering.
In 2026, he joined the MERLN Institute as a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow. He currently develops a modular bioprinting platform for rapid processing of cellular and material building blocks. By AI-guided design, his work aims to advance scalable manufacturing and complex tissue maturation in regenerative medicine and cellular agriculture.
