Buse received her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering in Türkiye in 2023. During her bachelor’s thesis, she focused on biomaterial synthesis and the development of antibacterial coatings. As part of her undergraduate training, she also completed an internship at KU Leuven in Belgium, where she worked on tissue-engineered in vitro mini-liver models.
She continued her education with a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering at Ghent University, Belgium, graduating in 2025. Her master’s research focused on the prototyping and characterization of nanobiosensors for the multiplex monitoring of health biomarkers, with particular emphasis on inflammatory biomarkers relevant to the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases.
In 2026, Buse joined MERLN as a PhD candidate in the CTR department. Her PhD research focuses on Next-Generation In Vitro Models of Musculoskeletal Tissues & Interfaces, with a particular interest in developing miniaturized in vitro models to study bone tissue and bone-related tissue interfaces. Her research combines approaches from tissue engineering, biomaterials, and advanced in vitro model development.
