Preclinical Validation of Bioabsorbable EMD Prototypes by Development & Application of Histological Methods

With an academic background in Biotechnology, Biomedicine, and Bioinformatics, she is passionate about human health and how science can contribute to it. In September 2025, she joined MERLN as a PhD candidate under the interdisciplinary Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Industrial Doctorate Network programme, BIOMEND. Her research is supervised by Prof. Dr. Martijn van Griensven, Prof. Dr. Jurica Bauer, and Prof. Benita Hermanns-Sachweh, with whom she also collaborates at the company Implant Pathology.

Her project focuses on the preclinical validation of bioabsorbable EMD prototypes, with an emphasis on the development and application of histological methods to study their interaction with tissues. Given that cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death in many countries worldwide, she is proud to contribute to research that supports the development of innovative coronary stent devices made of bioabsorbable alloys, a state-of-the-art approach in regenerative medicine.
